Transaction Coordinator vs. Real Estate Assistant: What’s the Difference?

Transaction Coordinator vs. Real Estate Assistant: What’s the Difference?

Posted on December 12, 2024

Real estate agents, ever wondered what separates a Transaction Coordinator (TC) from a Real Estate Assistant? Let’s break it down!

-Transaction Coordinator (TC): A TC is laser-focused on managing the paperwork and deadlines for real estate transactions. Their job is to ensure every "i" is dotted and "t" is crossed, guiding the transaction from contract to close. They aren’t involved in marketing or daily agent tasks—they specialize in making sure nothing falls through the cracks during a deal. **Important note**: It’s essential to make it clear to the agent that communication with the client is *supplemental*, not primary. You’re there to support, not take over the agent-client relationship!

-Real Estate Assistant: A Real Estate Assistant, on the other hand, wears many hats. They handle a variety of day-to-day tasks for an agent—things like scheduling, client communication, marketing, and maybe even a bit of admin work. They’re the general support behind an agent’s business.

In short: A Real Estate Assistant helps keep the entire business running, while a TC focuses on managing transactions.
